Prior to joining Syght, Mike worked in various engineering and management positions at Applied Magnetics, Maxtor, Seagate and as a consultant to Western Digital. He remains a technology advisor to the data storage sector and publishes a weekly technology blog highlighting interesting developments in the storage and semiconductor businesses.

Mike’s decades of experience developing and delivering complex technologies to the hard disk drive business have afforded him a unique perspective on the manufacturing and testing of high performance, complex products. His wide ranging background includes electrical and mechanical design, system characterization and cost reduction.

In his spare time, Mike enjoys hiking, biking and fishing the Colorado countryside. He also enjoys amateur radio including vintage equipment restoration and antenna design.
