Director of Corporate Communication

Kathy is the Operations Manager at Syght, where she is responsible for bookkeeping, accounts payable, record keeping, software assessment and implementation, and administration. She has over 20 years of technical experience from her work with Digital Equipment Corp, Motorola, Intel, and three startups..

Kathy has extensive experience in Latin America, where she worked for Intel for over three years, and in 1998 founded Empowerment International (EI), an educational nonprofit that serves over 350 vulnerable children and youth, and today has a local staff of 13. In addition to the annual 95% school retention rate, the program has expanded to support program graduates in attending college and entering professional roles. Due to the success of the program, several organizations have replicated portions of the program. In starting EI, Kathy gained experience in all aspects of running a successful business, including management, accounting, marketing, and fundraising.

Kathy studied electrical engineering at Worcester Polytech, and has a certificate in nonprofit management from the University of Chicago. She also studied Monitoring and Evaluation at Regis University. She is fluent in Spanish. Currently residing in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Kathy enjoys photography, mountain biking, and hiking with her dog Ginger.
