Beth O’Brien
COO
As the Chief Operating Officer, Beth oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering and operational projects.
With over 25 years of engineering and project management experience, Beth has provided leadership in the medical device, telecommunications, and data storage industries. With a background in software and mathematics, Beth started her career in software development at Ericsson, moving to software and system testing, and tools design and automation at IBM/ROLM. Shortly after, Beth was offered her first opportunity to build a System Test Team from the ground up. Based on this success and learning, Beth went on to lead and modernize test organizations for StorageTek, Ericsson, and Medtronic.
Beth has led projects spanning development, integration, testing, and deployment of products and services. Teams have been cross-functional, up to 70 people, multi-sited, and international. With a strong process focus, Beth has also chaired large teams charged with executing strategic corporate initiatives. At Medtronic, Beth chartered and led a cross-business Software Quality Sub-Council identifying key threats/opportunities and recommended actions company-wide.
Beth has a B.A. in Mathematics with Computer Science, is named on 4 patents, and holds a PMP credential. Not quite a Colorado “native”, Beth did spend her early years through college in Boulder. After graduation, Beth and her husband moved to Dallas and then the Bay area, before returning and settling in Colorado. Beth enjoys skiing, golf, and traveling.
